Our Methodology

Prior to developing a cost effective operational continuity plan for a client, ACROSS Consulting painstakingly takes time to examine, understand and analyze the clients' existing operating environment, requirements and needs. This approach protects the interests of our clients and ensures that decisions are not dictated by what ACROSS Consulting can offer, but rather by the clients' individual needs and requirements.

Due to the differences in the nature of the market conditions, business operations, risk exposures, operating environment and disaster recovery needs of each individual company, a one-size-fits-all type of operational continuity plan will not be workable or practicable. Hence ACROSS Consulting customizes and tailors its services to meet the clients' specific needs and budget constraints.

Over the years, ACROSS Consulting has developed an extremely comprehensive and adaptive in-house methodology to achieve its corporate mission to assist companies in developing their Operation Continuity Plans. The methodology, framework and processes developed and adopted by ACROSS Consulting has a strong resemblance to the Singapore's Business Continuity Management Standard published by SPRING Singapore which was derived from both the British Standards Institution - BSI PAS 56 Standards Model together with the Business Continuity Institute BCI : 2002 - Business Continuity Management : Good Practice Guidelines ( GPG ).

This in-house developed methodology adopted a step-by-step approach; starting with a series of situational analyses to identify the risks and vulnerabilities the clients are exposed to in their existing operating environment and to understand the impact these risks and vulnerabilities have on their business operations. Based on the information gathered, the next step in the process will be the contingency and recovery planning itself. Once these plans are developed, the next important and essential step is to put these plans into concise instructional documentation for easy reference and recording purpose. The last and final step in the process would be the plan execution co-ordination where ACROSS Consulting will be actively involved and working closely with the clients to materialize the plans.
